Rock Shear Interface

RSI-ShearTrac-II
The Rock Shear Interface (RSI) is a fully automated versatile system, capable of performing the following tests with the appropriate software and sample confinement hardware: Incremental consolidation up to 32 steps, Direct and residual shear on natural and artificial rock joints up to 83 mm (3.26 in) diameter, Direct and residual shear on soils up to 150 mm (6.00 in) square or round samples, Interface friction between soils and geosynthetics, Direct simple shear with Teflon coated stacked rings. This system utilizes high-precision micro-stepper motors for both the vertical and horizontal load and displacement controls.

Applicable Test Standards

ASTM D-5607
ASTM D-5321
ASTM 3080/T236
ASTM D-2435/T216
