The GDS 1000kN loadframe is a servo-hydraulic system that has been designed to be a compact and effective addition to a soil and rock testing laboratory. Hydraulic power is derived from a separate powerpack that can be sited up to 15m from the Loadframe. The HLF1000 has closed loop-feedback control of force and position as standard. This allows the frame to be used for many different test types from soil mechanics to rock mechanics and other material test applications where precise control of Axial force and Displacement are required in a very stiff reaction frame. The 1000kN load frame can be ordered as either a “fixed-head” or “moveable-head” frame. For the Fixed head version is ideal where a fixed cell size is to be used, although optional distance pieces can be used to decrease the vertical daylight opening should smaller cells be used. The frame shown is the fixed head version. If the Moveable head upgrade is required the frame changes to a 4-column design.  The GDS 1000kN Loadframe is controlled by the ELDCS control system.  This control system has 4 channels of high speed data acquisition built in and is connected to the PC via the USB bus.
