Drilling to start in CBD to get samples of New Plymouth's geology

Three holes will be drilled into New Plymouth's crust in an effort to better understand the landscape of earthquakes.
The New Plymouth District Council has announced it will be drilling "three geotechnical bores" to provide an analysis of the underlying geology of the area.
One of the drill sites is near the popular eating spot Mt Bryan Domain, known as pig-out point, while a second is pegged for the lower Carrington St car park and the third is at a "foreshore site" near New Plymouth's central business district.
