The focus of the project was the collection of actual leachate data, where available from full-scale landfill sites. This report includes the most comprehensive published data set on leachate quality from landfill sites that are similar to those that will be developed in the UK following implementation of the Landfill Directive. The information included can be used to inform the selection of leachate source term data for groundwater risk assessments, at least until a more comprehensive body of data becomes available for UK landfills.
