Riyadh Metro sees more than 3m safe work hours in 2016

The Riyadh Metro project completed more than three million safe work hours in 2016, the leader of the joint venture working on the massive infrastructure project has announced.

Parsons, the global engineering, construction, technical and management services consultancy that is leading the joint venture, said that the latest safety figures were achieved less than a year after surpassing two million safe work hours, without a single lost-time incident.

Known as Riyadh Metro Transit Consultants (RMTC), the joint venture also consists of French engineering firms Egis and Systra. RMTC is the engineer of record for two Riyadh Metro contracts, while the project itself is commissioned by Arriyadh Development Authority.

Parsons is playing a lead role in the health, safety and environment (HSE) management, a statement released by Parsons said.
