Petrotac is a “peel and stick” strip membrane used as a moisture barrier and stress absorber in paving applications. Petrotac is used in pavement maintenance to treat local pavement distress and joints and cracks before overlay placement. Petrotac is also used full-width as a moisture barrier in bridge deck paving projects.

Petrotac is composed of the Petromat® nonwoven fabric coated with rubberized asphalt adhesive mastic. The adhesive mastic easily bonds to the existing pavement surface, allowing for a quick, uncomplicated product installation. The unique asphalt coating on top of the nonwoven fabric ensures a strong bond with the pavement overlay.

The factory applied rubberized asphalt coating forms a continuous moisture barrier, leading many regions to approve Petrotac as a bridge deck waterproofing membrane.
