REHABILITATION OF MINE TAILINGS: A CASE OF COMPLETE ECOSYSTEM RECONSTRUCTION AND REVEGETATION OF INDUSTRIALLY STRESSED LANDS IN THE SUDBURY AREA, ONTARIO, CANADA (1984)

Mining, and the subsequent ore beneficiating processes associated with
extractive metallurgical techniques, impinge on the earth's surface in various ways which are specific to the ore being mined, the site and the waste products from the metallurgical processes. This case study will deal with the field solution of some of the problems which arise in hard rock mining and with sulphide ores in particular.
