A high accuracy instrument used to measure track geometry. It is ideally suited to monitor areas where instability has been identified and more detailed information is required as the system can be connected into an automated data acquisition system to monitor real data which can also be accessed remotely. The system comprises a string of MEMS bi-axial tilt sensors mounted longitudinally along the track at to measure the rotation of each beam between fixing points in the A axis. These rotations are combined to generate a settlement profile along the track. Twist in the B axis at each fixing is also monitored and therefore the change in cant at these points can be calculated. Information from this is much more comprehensive than Tilt Meters located at individual point locations along the track.
