An open call to find the best potential routes for futuristic Hyperloop transport corridors has been narrowed down to 35 semi-finalists, including proposals from the UK, USA and India.

Developer Hyperloop One fielded 2,600 registrants in five months before releasing the locations of the 35 teams. The Hyperloop One Global Challenge kicked off in May 2016 with an invitation to individuals, universities, companies and governments to develop comprehensive proposals for using the technology in their region.

The eventual winners will work closely with the Hyperloop One engineering and business development teams to explore project development and financing.
