STIFF SOIL AMPLIFICATION EFFECTS IN THE 7 SEPTEMBER 1999 ATHENS (GREECE) EARTHQUAKE (2001)

In this paper evaluating strong motion recordings and the patterns of damage at sites with known geological and geotechnical conditions, has shown that very stiff soils and soft rocks present different horizontal accelerations unlike the US and the European seismic code provisions.
