INSTRUMENTATION AND REAL TIME MONITORING OF SLOPE MOVEMENT IN HONG KONG (2008)
To monitor slope movement and the factors which influence it, Arup and the GEO have developed a fully automated system for collecting and reporting field monitoring data. The instruments collect readings at designated intervals and upload them to a secure internet site, allowing the data to be checked in virtually real time. This paper reviews the various methods adopted and their effectiveness in the forewarning of slope movements.
