There are correlations between the residual strength and the soil index properties. The soil index are as follows; the clay fraction Fclay as related to physical property of soil particle, the pH and the salinity of related to chemical property of pore water and liquid limit and the plasticity index as related to engineering properties of fine grained soils. This study aimed for determining the residual strength from soil index.
