THE PREDICTION OF PORE PRESSURES FOR SLOPE STABILITY ANALYSES (1986)

An independent analysis must be performed in order to obain the pore water pressures for a slope stability analysis. These pore water pressure conditions may result from eth effects of construction or they may result from the natural groundwater condition. These two separate conditions may be classified as pore pressure conditions which are a functin of total stress, or pore water conditions which are independent of the applied total stresses and only a function of the natural seepage processes withing the soil mass.
