The LC-2×4 is a self-contained multi-channel version of the Model 8002-1 (LC-2). The LC-2×4 provides 4 channels of vibrating wire (with thermistor) and is powered by two ‘D’ cells or by solar panel for remote long-term applications. The datalogger is housed inside a Fiberglass Nema 4X enclosure, and is thus very robust, weather-proof and particularly suited to operation in harsh environments. Their low power consumption provides long battery life and a self-checking function continuously monitors and reports the condition of the main batteries. Data memory consists of 320K bytes of EEPROM, which translates into a memory storage capacity of 10,666 arrays. Each array consists of the datalogger ID, day (Julian or month/day format), time (HHMM), seconds, main battery voltage, datalogger temperature, vibrating wire sensor reading (in engineering units) and the sensor temperature. The array transmission is in comma delineated ASCII text, for easy importation into popular spreadsheet applications. Configuration, communication, monitoring, data collection and data reduction are achieved using LogView Software.
