China is building the world's longest double-deck suspension bridge with an incredible 5,570ft span

Mail Online   20 November 2018   China

The Yangsigang Bridge boasts a single span of 1,700 metres (5,577 feet) over the Yangtze River and will cost a whopping eight billion yuan (£900 million) to construct.
The bridge's span is 221 metres (725 feet) shorter than that of Japan's Akashi Kaikyō Bridge, the longest suspension bridge in the world. But the Japanese bridge, which crosses the busy Akashi Strait, only has one level.
The news comes less than a month after China opened the world's longest sea-crossing bridge at 34 miles, linking Hong Kong, Macau and Zhuhai.
