Seattle tunnel subcontractor cited for underpaying workers $370,000
SEATTLE - A company contracted to haul away dirt from the state Route 99 tunnel excavation has been cited for underpaying workers by more than $370,000.
While Bertha was drilling underground for the recently-opened SR-99 tunnel, Glacier Northwest was contracted by Seattle Tunnel Partners for an estimated $28 million to remove the dirt and other materials.
