ACTIVE FAULT AND PALEOSEISMIC INVESTIGATION: EVIDENCE OF A HISTORIC EARTHQUAKE ALONGCHANDIGARH FAULT IN THE FRONTAL HIMALAYAN ZONE, NW INDIA (2008)

The main aim of this paper is to document the geomorphic expression of active faulting based on remote sensingapproach and supplement the occurrence of one single large magnitude event 600 years or so ago along the Himalayan Frontal Thrust (HFT) as deduced from paleoseismic investigation in the field and by OSL dates of sediments exposed in the trench.
