Pile foundations now make up a greater percentage of foundations for new construction. That is why, an accurate calculation of pile resistance and the knowledge of its reliability has a great economic importance. A more rigorous approach has become necessary since the introduction of Eurocodes. The pile resistances are more often calculated based on CPT results. This paper suggests a new method based on comparison of several approaches and recent design experience. The method takes into account soil type and piling technology. It was verified by 63 pile load tests and its reliability was evaluated as well.
