<p>A conceptual model is presented to follow the evolution of permeability in siliceous rocks mediated by pressure solution comprising the serial processes of interfacial dissolution, diffusion, and free-face precipitation.</p>

<p>The objective of the work described in this paper is to quantify the intricate three-dimensional topography of stylolites. For this purpose are collected twelve sedimentary bed-parallel stylolites in limestones.</p>
