Kashmir avalanche: Horrific landslide leaves at least 85 dead and 10 missing
Dozens of homes have been destroyed this morning after a series of avalanches caused landslides, killing at least 85. It was reported this morning that the death toll was at 55. It has since risen by 30 but more people are feared to have been killed.
While the Pakistan-administered Kashmir region is prone to severe weather, the current death toll is its worst in history, the BBC reports.
Up to 100 people are still missing, Pakistan's National Disaster Management Authority said.
The series of avalanches occurred in Neelum Valley.
