Quarry rock collapse buries digger in Canterbury
Specialist alpine cliff and mine rescue teams have been rushed to a Canterbury lime quarry in a desperate attempt to save a digger driver trapped under a landslide.
Paramedics have already been stood down from the scene, sparking fears for the man's safety.
Canterbury Police Search and Rescue are leading a rescue operation which involves a total of 25 people from police, Alpine Cliff Rescue, Mines Rescue and WorkSafe New Zealand.
