Thames Tideway Tunnel names Allianz consortium as investor in £4.2bn super-sewer
A group of investors including the German insurance group Allianz has won a contest to invest £4.2bn in London’s new Thames super-sewer, one of the biggest infrastructure projects in the capital.
The investors will provide financial support for the construction of the Thames Tideway Tunnel, which will stretch 15 miles under London to help prevent untreated sewage from flowing into the city's river.
