Rock fall restrictions end in Port Hills but council warns danger remains
Dozens of Christchurch property owners barred from their houses because of the risk of rock fall can return after the law keeping them out expired.
However, the Christchurch City Council is advising them not to reoccupy many of the buildings, as it still considers them hazardous.
The properties, scattered throughout the Port Hills, were deemed too dangerous to live in because of the risk of rock fall or landslip after the 2011 earthquakes.
