A THREE DIMENSIONAL FINITE ELEMENT MODEL OF TUNNELING (1995)
A procedure for modelling incremental excavation using finite elements is discussed here in detail. A three dimensional finite element analysis of an unlined tunnel under a greenfield site using a simple constitutive model for the soil is used to illustrate this numerical procedure.
