Borehole drilling is the art of opening a narrow hole in the ground for considerable depths, in order to acquire information for the ground conditions or extract natural resources from it. Borehole drilling can be performed using a drilling rig or a hand operated rig, depending on its purpose or the geological conditions. There are a lot of borehole drilling techniques using a drilling rig that can be used such as (mud) rotary and air percussion drilling.
